On both sides we put much hope in the progress of this unique project so that our friends in Bali will soon be able to live in a safe shelter.
Hariyono and Erich used to be part of a variety of Swiss-Indonesian cultural events to generate funds by selling aricles from their extensive collection. Since Erich is missing some of his physical strenght those occasions have become less frequent. Therefore, Hariyono has recently joined a small organisation in Switzerland promoting arts and crafts and also the rich culture of Indonesia. News from both continents
The project of building Taman Teman - The Garden of Friends - is a long-term project. From the Europen side it is a challenging and also an exiting adventure for Hariyono and Erich to build on a land that is 12'000 kilometers away. Even more since we neither have the necessary knowledge nor the financial ressources to complete this project in one shot. We continuouly ad our ideas and transfer funds whenever we can and we rely on our friends to build up a beautiful Garden of Friends piece by piece.
From the Asian side it is equally challenging for Kadek Suwalo, Komang Suwali and their families not only to source the best and the most reliable constructors avaliable and to ad a lot of hard physical work but also to consider the many specific needs that our European friends might have now and in the future when staying at Taman Teman.
